Racers compete for first place in the 7-series Skyrunning World Championship circuit, which is also known as "World's Toughest Mountain Race." Mountain runners sprint through 68,897 feet of rocky terrain up steep steps and paths to the summit of Mount Kinabalu—13,435 feet high—and back to the Kinabalu Park headquarters to complete the race. While the average person takes two days, the herculean contestants can reach the finishing line in approximately two and a half hours. Bystanders can join in the excitement and participate in a multitude of events.
