Showcasing Malaysia at DEMA Show 2013

For the 18th year, Tourism Malaysia participates in DEMA Show 2013 from November 6th-9th at the Orange County Convention Center; the only international trade-only event for the diving, action water sports and travel industries of its kind. Having a presence at events such as DEMA allows Tourism Malaysia to showcase and bring global awareness to its extraordinary dive industry. As the country prepares to celebrate and welcome visitors during, Visit Malaysia Year 2014, next year will be the perfect time for dive enthusiasts to visit.

For those who want to learn more about the region, then what better way to learn first-hand than from two local experts? Tourism Malaysia will be hosting a seminar — Malaysia-Endless Underwater Treasures on Thursday, November 7th at 10:00 AM in room S320A and Friday, November 8th at 10:00 AM in room S320C. Clement Lee Ngak Yeo, a seasoned expert within the industry and Ahmat Najah Bin Rahmat, a local diving instructor with more than 3,000 dives under his belt will be highlighting what’s new and upcoming in Malaysia’s diving world, including highlights on:

• Sipadan Island: a world-renowned dive region and home to the Barracuda Point, the most famous dive site in Malaysia. It is home to sea turtles, schooling barracudas, and much more.

• Other popular dive sites such as: Pulau Mantanani, Pulau Mabul, Pulau Labuan, Pulau Redang, Pulau Tioman, and Pulau Perhentian.

• Coral Triangle: The world’s richest garden of corals and sea life.

• Borneo Eastern and Peninsular Malaysia: Both regions where these islands are located offer divers of all skill levels an opportunity to experience colorful and unique sea life. This includes sea turtles, hammerhead sharks, and giant parrot fishes. Divers will also discover a diverse underwater geography, such as sloping reefs, wall dives, deep dives, and wreck dives.

DEMA Show attendees are also invited to stop by the Tourism Malaysia booth #615 to find out more about Malaysia’s dive scene.
